ΒιΆΉΝψ's Biomedical Science Degree Amongst The Best In the UK
The renowned (IBMS) has for the third time in succession announced the award of a further five-year accreditation to ΒιΆΉΝψβs BSc program in at the Universityβs .
The Institute of Biomedical Science praised the degree for the excellent input of the NHS profession into the course, the outstanding student satisfaction and the evidence of good employment. More than 30 former ΒιΆΉΝψ graduates work now in hospitals in north Wales and more in other parts of the United Kingdom. The course is also a very good preparation for postgraduate entry into a Medical School.
Speaking after the validation event, Course Director Mr Merfyn Williams explains: βWe are extremely pleased to have again achieved the high standard required for the degree to attain accreditation status with the IBMS. The standards have been achieved in partnership with NHS colleagues and our graduates are well qualified, ready and sought after for employment in the NHS, Bioscience industries, management, further education (MSc, PhD), post graduate teaching, medicine, dentistry, veterinary science and nursing.β
The Director of Teaching in the School of Biological Sciences, Dr Thomas Caspari added: βIn the light of the excellent employment prospects and the very high student satisfaction scores, recruitment into this degree is exceptionally strong. The vibrant learning environment has recently been strengthened by the new state-of-the-art βRobert Edwards Teaching Laboratoryβ which was named in honour of the late Sir Robert Edwards, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology in 2010 for his pioneering work in reproductive medicine.β
