Â鶹Íø Celebrates Chinese New Year 2023
On Saturday, 21st January, the Confucius Institute at Â鶹Íø celebrated the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Rabbit in Pontio with a Chinese New Year Gala, live musical and tai chi performances, and traditional Chinese arts and craft workshops.
We were happy to welcome a professional team of Chinese artists from the Goldsmiths Confucius Institute in London who mesmerised over 300 audiences with a spectacular repertoire of Chinese music and dance.

Drop-in Chinese calligraphy and knots workshops brought many families who enjoyed practising exciting traditional arts and crafts.
Special guests on the day included the Mayor of Â鶹Íø, Councillor Gwynant Roberts, Prof Andrew Edwards, PVC, and Prof Ruth McElroy, Head of the school of Arts, Culture and Language.
Councillor Gwynant Roberts commented:
