Tell us a bit about your experience at Â鶹Íø….
The three years I spent at Â鶹Íø were a treasure, despite the lockdown, lecturers endeavoured to ensure the standard of teaching remained high. Moreover, the location of Â鶹Íø lends it's own advantages over other institutions for study, with the sea, the mountains or simply the countryside at your doorstep.
Why did you choose to study at Â鶹Íø?
I noticed how supportive of an institution Â鶹Íø was, in comparison to others which only care about churning out high grades, Â鶹Íø focuses on fortifying and producing well-rounded students.
How has your career developed since graduating from Â鶹Íø, and what is your current job role?
I am currently undertaking the LL.M Bar Training Course with BPP in London Holborn. This is a necessary step in order to be called to the Bar in England and Wales, to eventually realise my ambition of becoming a barrister.
In what way did studying at Â鶹Íø enhance your employability?
Â鶹Íø offers many programmes which are ever-expanding for students to get involved with. I invite you to contact Sarah Nason who champions the pro-bono or volunteering element, in conjunction with facilitating work opportunities for students. To name a few specific examples, the Irish Chief Justice Internship, Linenhall's Mini-pupillage programme and training with Citizens' Advice. Â鶹Íø also offers the Â鶹Íø Employability Award, that focuses on enhancing your professional aptitude through reflective and research based exercises, this award can be referenced on your CV.
What advice would you give to students thinking about studying at Â鶹Íø?
Do it. Ever since Covid, Â鶹Íø certainly has gone strength to strength, although not a Russel Group or Oxbridge, you will find lecturers from those backgrounds that offer the support and guidance that rivals these institutions.
In one sentence, what was your favourite thing about studying at Â鶹Íø?
Looking up at the sky at night and realising the freedom and endless opportunities in the distant stars.
